The Sam Davis Home & Museum welcomes all groups-- religious, boy/girl scouts, senior, college, and just plain fun outings. Group Tours include a viewing of the film Sam Davis: His Life, Legend, and Legacy, a self-guided tour of the museum, and a guided tour of the historic house and outbuildings, including the enslaved quarters, a smokehouse, kitchen, and overseer's cabin. We recommend at least two hours to see everything. Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch or snack to enjoy on our beautiful 168 acres.
group sizes & reservations
The Sam Davis Home & Museum can accommodate groups of all sizes. All group tours must be made one week in advance. Groups of 10 or more persons will receive a special group rate, listed below. Logistical details will need to be discussed ahead of time for groups larger than 60 persons.
fees & payment
Groups must pay with a single payment; otherwise, each person will be charged the regular admission rate. Groups over 20 persons must pay a 50% deposit upon booking. The deposit will be applied to the payment on the date of the scheduled tour. Please see "Cancellations" below for refund information.
A written confirmation will be emailed to the group point of contact once the deposit is received. It will include instructions for payment, parking, and expectations. The group reservation is not confirmed until the point of contact receives an email.
Cancellations must be made in writing 48 hours prior to scheduled tour for the 50% deposit to be returned. The Sam Davis Home & Museum will retain the full deposit if the cancellation is received less than 48 hours prior to the reserved date. When Rutherford County Schools are closed for inclement weather, the Sam Davis Home & Museum is closed, and tours scheduled for that day will be rescheduled.
We have several acres on the property suitable for a picnic for groups of all sizes. The Creek House, if available, can be rented for lunch in half-hour increments at a rate of $25 per half hour. For your convenience, there are eight 60” round tables and fifty banquet chairs available that require set-up and must be cleaned and returned to their original location following their use. Clean-up is the responsibility of the group, and all trash must be disposed of in the proper receptacles, leaving nothing behind. Arrangements must be made in advance.
