Gift Shop and Visitor's Center Manager
Taylor is our Visitors' Center Manager and Lead Site Interpreter. A lifelong history buff and storyteller, he uses his knowledge and skill set to make the story of Sam come to life day after day. In addition to conducting tours, he is always on the lookout for new items to acquire for our gift shop. Though not born in Smyrna, Taylor has spent most of his life in or around the Murfreesboro area, and remembers fondly the very first time he came to SDH. Even as a young boy, he was fascinated and humbled by the bravery and tragedy of the life of Sam Davis. His love of history and extensive theatre background made becoming a site interpreter an inevitability. Oddly enough, Taylor doesn't even have a degree in history! He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Economics from MTSU, with a minor in German. When he's not at SDH, Taylor spends most of his time working on his horror podcast Count Drahoon's Feature of Fright, or playing trivia with his friends. Fun fact, Taylor can name all forty five presidents backwards, just ask him to do it whenever you come in and see us!
